VDF Flooring – High-Strength, Smooth & Durable Concrete Floors
VDF Flooring (Vacuum Dewatered Flooring or Tremix Flooring) is a method of laying super-solid concrete floors where excess water is removed using a vacuum process after placing and vibration. This process brings the water-cement ratio to an optimum level, resulting in higher strength and better workability.
Water plays a major role in achieving concrete’s maximum compressive strength. When the water-cement ratio is low, workability is low but strength is high. When the ratio is high, workability improves but strength reduces. The VDF method balances both strength and workability by vacuum dewatering surplus water from concrete.
